How come we ban that person

In recent months we have ban a few people and have been questioned for our wisdom in the process. Another words we have taken some heat for it. It occurred to me that maybe I should walk you all through the process.

Some fall into the spammers, advertisement of other sites, cussing out other members, etc, these are easy to understand and are not in question. What is in question is someone like Kitten who was just ban the other day.

There are 7 or so monitors of the boards, each one of us take on a different area and all of us have been doing this over a dozen years. In that time you start to see patterns, the way people phrase things. This sends up a that red flag, and we start watching every post that person makes. The second thing that starts happening is we start sending messages back and forth to each other to get feedback. We know something is wrong when we start getting private messages back from you people as well. Then we look at the persons profile and it shows the last 10 people that have looked at it, and when we see that 7 of them are ops, we know this person is in trouble.

Sometimes its not one comment that takes a person out, but the collection of there posts, take Kitten as an example, most of us had her pegged after the second post. She only made 16 outside of the political section and of those most were political and that section is an add on to the real reason for this site. So there comes a time when we know and its best to end it, which is what happened to Kitten. Remember when we ban someone, its not because we reacted, its because we looked at everything first and many times talk it over with each other. We all had our fingers on the red kill switch, but why.

The reason we ban someone is very simple, the Eunuch Archive is more important then that person that was ban. You must trust us to make those decisions because the Archive and your safety must come first.

Just to put this into perspective, there is a list, accessible to Moderators, of everyone who has been banned since the beginning of 2007. There are 26 names on the list covering 53 months. Two of them are of individuals who had been previously banned, but who tried to sign up under a new name. One is for an individual who has since rejoined and become a valued member of the group. Included on the list are such memorable Archive members as “elehapsPooche,” “Praissaltju,” “Rclinftl,” “Sniciedesem,” and “S 76544jmbjr.”

Spamming will get you instantly banned. Advertising illegal activity will get you banned. Racist, insulting, or flaming posts will get you warned, and banned if the practice continues. That so few have been banned over a four and a half year period speaks well of those who discover and join our group.

A dear friend of mine from Germany (I have rarely met such a kind and supportive person) has been banned from this forum *for life* recently after one single and very brief comment that was not literally racist, but which you have *interpreted* as such. Instead of a warning, s/he was immediately banned by one of your moderators, and received an incredibly hateful and discriminatory remark at that.

I must say I was just as shocked reading this as s/he still is and I do wonder whether people from some nations have less right to write here than others.

If its the person I am thinking of, he was ban for good reasons. It was not one little slip but an entire post that had to be deleted it was so bad. I don't remember which one of us ban him several of us were trying to do it at the same time.

It is true, he is ban for life.

Actually nationally does play in our decision, and we will work with a person in private conversation to resolve the issues of language. Your friend from Germany was not the case, it was a hate ridden races post from start to end and was quite long. I don't know what he told you but he was ban for a good reason.
