IFC channel with vise?

I was watching "Masters and Commanders..." on IFC Saturday night and at least twice after commercials they showed a vice with two walnuts in it being twisted until they cracked open. I asked myself, "What's the symbolism for airing this at this time?" It certainly had testicle popping implications. Anyone else see it?

No but I did see a bit on Strange Sex last night on The Learning Channel where a guy was voluntarily castrated to eliminate his POIS 'disease". POIS disease has miserable symptoms following an orgasm. It was interesting but honestly, the guy looked like he was better off without balls for genetic reasons as well.
