British woman 'bites off' boyfriend's testicles

By staff writers From: NewsCore March 18, 2011 3:09AM

Mr Douglas needed emergency surgery and had to spend several days in the hospital recovering from the attack.

A BRITISH man had surgery to reattach his testicles after his girlfriend allegedly bit them off, the Daily Mirror reported yesterday.

Maria Georgina Topp, 43, appeared in court accused of carrying out the horrific attack on her boyfriend Martin Douglas, 45, in Newcastle, northern England.

Mr Douglas had to call emergency services himself after the incident, but was in so much pain operators could not understand what he was saying. He needed emergency surgery and had to spend several days in the hospital recovering from the attack.

Paramedics who attended the scene called police when they saw the extent of his injuries and Ms Topp was arrested and charged with causing grievous bodily harm.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said, "At around 4am [local time] on Friday, February 18, police were called to a report of an assault. Officers arrested a 43-year-old woman on suspicion of assault. A 45-year-old man was taken to the Freeman Hospital for treatment to injuries to his arm and groin area."

Ms Topp is due to appear at Newcastle Crown Court next month.

Re-attach ripped off or bitten off testicles?

I doubt it. :shakemitk

Scrotum, certainly 👌 but not the nuggets to any viable state.

It is entirely possible to "bite off" a man's testicles. It depends on several things, size of the testicles, size of the woman's mouth, sharpness of the teeth, speed and the willingness of the man to allow the woman to engulf his testicles to begin with. Also has to do with the anger or angst of the woman towards said boyfriend. If she caught him having an affair with another woman, all gloves are off and it would be difficult to stop a deranged jilted woman. He's fortunate that she didn't go for his penis. She probably lured him in by having sex, maybe she was allowed to tie him up, however it happened, she was able to access his balls.

As to the physicality of biting off a man's testicles, the scrotum is thin skinned, tough, but thin. Testicles hang by chords, tough, but sharp powerful teeth can make short work of them. An enraged woman certainly has the power to bite them off. Human teeth are sharper and more powerful than you might think. We can bite through light weight sheet metal: http://www.glapbta.com/BFBP.pdf

"The bite pressure in humans, like the bite force, can be relatively easily measured. In using the pressure sensitive film, the bite force can be associated with a defined occlusal contact area. When the volunteers for the study were asked to bite down on the film with increasing pressure (clenching) the contact 5 area increases. As the force increased, the contact area of the bite increased and the bite pressure remained constant. The force is dissipated over a slightly larger area. The average bite pressure is in the range of 2840 to 4270 psi. Therefore, while the bite force itself averaged 117 to 265 lbs, the pressure remained constant at about 5600 psi…certainly enough to puncture light weight sheet metal."

"The Dental Science Handbook published by the American Dental Association (1970) gives bite pressures by humans as great as 15 tons per square inch - 83% as strong as the greatest pressure recorded thus far for any shark. No wonder human bites are often so devastating - we have short jaws, powered by thick masseter muscles and armed with relatively blunt, chisel-shaped incisors. So play nice, kiddies!"

Hash, I love how much you always think about these stories. Now you're making me think more about it ...

The actual act of biting them off would still require some chewing and ripping. Human teeth can certainly do it, but I think it wouldn't just be a one bite thing. Probably have to saw back and forth a bit, pull real hard and maybe work over any portion still attached. All that would be while some serious bleeding occurs.

Definitely would be a grisly experience for both the performer and the victim.

Wish the article explained more about the motivation and also the prognosis. The article seems to imply that the full testicles were actually severed, but a lot of news seems to embellish this sort of thing -- it is possible that just a portion of the scrotum was bit off, or that they weren't really severed.

Still fun to think about!

Here is an article with a picture of the woman. Looks like her teeth could do the job.

This article does not say they were re attached.

It is the re attachment I doubt, not the removal.

Moi, I agree. Reattachment is possible, but difficult. It would require micro surgery to be employed. Nerve reattachment makes it even more difficult. I think splitdick is correct too, the newspapers sensationalize a lot of these stories so we probably won't ever know the extent of the injury.
