Man Killed by Pet Spider, Eaten by Creepy Crawlies

By Michael Billy.

Mark Voegel, 30, was found dead in his Dortmund, Germany apartment. His body was draped in spider webs and more than 200 spiders, several snakes, thousands of termites, and a gecko were feasting on his corpse.

Proper authorities were alerted when concerned neighbours noticed a horrendous stench eminating from the apartment.

His black widow, Bettina, is believed to have administered the deadly bite.

Voeger's apartment has been described as both a "zoo" and a "jungle" by authorities. He never let people visit.

A police spokesman said: Β“It was like a horror movie. His corpse was over the sofa. Giant webs draped him, spiders were all over him. They were coming out of his nose and his mouth. There was everything there one could imagine in the world of reptiles. Larger pieces of flesh torn off by the lizards were scooped up and taken back to the webs of tarantulas and other bird-eating spiders.Β”

The spiders and termites managed to escape when the heating elements exploded and opened the lids to their tanks.

The lizards were allowed to roam.

Voegel also kept a pet boa constricter and several poisonous frogs.

He was dead for somewhere between seven and fourteen days when his corpse was found. Enough time for the creepy-crawlies to make a new home out of his apartment.

Me too, and a cat and fish.

Reminds me of that song from years past,

I love spiders and snakes,

πŸ™‹

Once again its proven that spiders and snakes etc do not make good pets. Stick with a furry mammal, one that's not to big and domesticated over the centuries.

Black widow bites are rarely fatal.

Ewww!! And I thought the poet who died by falling into a shitter and drowning had died a horrible death. I guess there is always somebody else in worse shape.

I think you'll find that "rarely" has come true.

It's like what fuels gambling and lotteries - someone actually does win. it's just that your chance of winning is infinitesimally small.

:)

There might be one chance in a billion but there are six billion people on earth. That is a 100% guarantee of six occurrences.

πŸ’‘

Think about it... We class storms as once in a hundred years or once in 500 years and those do occur.

:D

I wonder if he will make it into the finals of the DARWIN AWARDS? πŸ™„

If he doesn't its a shame. πŸ˜„

I never heard the story of the poet dying that way. That event DID IN FACT happen, and most sadly it happened to a child. I remember watching a documentary on TV, about "Los Colonias" (The Collonies).

"Los Colonias" are some EXTREMELY poor communities located in the deserts of west Texas mostly, a few miles east of El Paso. They are populated by a few legal and many illegal Mexican immigrants. They are small collections of ramshackle houses, I guess you might call them "villiages." The thing about Los Colonias is this, they are places where someone can purchase UNimproved property cheaply, there are NO building codes, no city ordinances, nothing like that. So most people who live there don't even bother with a septic tank and leach field, just an old fashioned "privy" or shit house out back.

One day, a mother noticed her three year old was missing, she panicked and got the whole villiage looking for the boy. She thought maybe he was in the privy so she looked but no child was there, then she looked down the hole and saw two shoes, at first she thought it was strange that her little boy would throw away his shoes there, then she realized that her little boy was dead, upside down in the shit at the bottom of the hole, and the shoes were still on his feet. I think this happened sometime back in the 1990's.

There once was a poet named Clyde

Who fell in an outhouse and died.

Sadly his brother

Fell into another.

And the two were "in-turd"

Side by side.
