the Christmas Wine platters on the ceiling

You shouldn't ask about the wine splatters on the ceiling...

I got in a panic to get a roast in the oven. My Niece was finishing searing the ends of the roast and in my rush, I tried to deglaze the pan with wine on an electric stove. I forgot those burners done lost heat like gas burners and the wine exploded. Luckily my Niece was wearing black and ducked away but my Mother's kitchen had wine spatters all over the stoves, up the walls, on the cabinets, the ceiling the floors.

But have no fear, even rushed and panicked I cook a good meal. We shove the roast in the oven and let it braise. It was a delicious roast and a hearty dinner. Lots of relatives and inlaws and kids.
