I just came across the movie, "Lai Shi, China's Last Eunuch". Someone has uploaded this movie to youtube in nine parts. I found it an interesting movie in that it is quite realistic and dealt with the end of Imperial Eunuchs in China around the beginning of the 1900's. I'd recommend it for sure!

The film has been mentioned several times before in posts on the Archive. It’s good to know that it’s now available on Youtube for easy viewing (although it may get removed for copyright reasons sometime soon). The Last Eunuch of China is one of the films centered on eunuchs that is listed in the Bibliography (http://www.eunuch.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=17583), as is the book-length biography of Sun Yaoting, written by Jia Yinhua. The film was based on his life story, though Sun was unhappy with some of the way that he was portrayed. Jia’s biography discusses some of the discrepancies between the film and the reality of his life.

Jia's biography was based on extensive interviews with Sun and includes excellent detail on the daily life of eunuchs in the Chinese court and in private life after the fall of the Q'ing Dynasty.

And the movie probably has the most bizarre subtitles ever encoded...
