Getting Ahead

There was an expectant father in the waiting room pacing back and forth. Finally, the nurse walked in with a bundle in her arms. She said to him, "I have good news and bad news." "You have a son but he was born without a body, he's just a head."
The father disregarded the negative and was overjoyed that he had a son. He took him home and raised him with love.
About two decades later, the father took his bodyless son to the pub to buy him his first brew. He ordered two pints, one for him and one for the son.
As the son took his first sip of beer, a torso popped out of his head, on the second sip, legs spouted and upon the third sip, arms popped out. His son was whole for the first time.
Overjoyed, the son began jumping up and down and ran out the pub door to see the world from a new perspective. As he ran across the street, he was hit by a bus and killed.
The bartender looked at the now grieving father and said, " Maybe your son should have quit when he was 'a head.'
(Apologies to Andrew)
