REM Sleep and non T Eunuchs

I was looking at a PBS program on REM sleep and it is usually associated with sexual arousal. Would the lack of arousal in non T eunuchs disrupt REM sleep and contribute to the sense of fatigue that new, non T eunuchs universally report?

If it does effect new non T eunuchs it must balance itself out in time. I am close to my 12 year anniversary as a non T eunuch and I have many vivid dreams. I sleep well and am rested in the morning. I do not always like my dreams but I still have and enjoy erotic dreams. Oh I have some good erotic dreams.

I have never felt I had less energy after castration but I realize others have different effects. Of course if I am doing something I want to do vs. something I have to do I have more energy.

Agree, I still have REM dreams/sleep as before, actually better because I now have a C-pap to help with that sleep.

Yes, I think that this is one fact that is not revealed or made known to would be wannabees. I continue to struggle with getting good sleep. I realize that at my age (52) some of this can be expected, it's age related, older people don't sleep as well as when they were younger. That, too, could be the result of hormonal disruption. I usually take a half pill of an over the counter sleep medication, I may or may not be addicted to them, but if I don't take it, I'll wake up three or four hours later and can't get back to sleep. I low dose testosterone, compounded testosterone, but it isn't working as well as it once did. So if you get castrated, expect a lack of sleep to some degree. You might regain your sleep after a few months or years once your body adjusts, everyone's different.
