UTAH state officials are warning people there to resist the temptation to go Elvis on their old, obsolete TV sets.

Seems the switch to digital TV earlier this month now means there are plenty of old-style, analog tube TV sets around.

And it's become great sport in certain parts of the state to shoot up the old set.

Think again, says Utah officials.

TV sets are loaded with potentially toxic elements.

Officials say it can cost up to $7,000 to clean-up a shot-up TV set.

How unfair can people get? Shooting the good old TV set dead, after it has given them so many hours of intense joy, with all those fabulously good programming around! There sits this good old TV set, having faithfully served for many years, endured abuse of all sorts, gotten hot and cold again many times, lived through soccer matches, soap operas, having been made shout out who knows what sorts of evil language not intended by its designers, and now, the poor old thing is shot dead, out of the blue sky, without as much as a trial, ONLY because someone came up with a new flavor of TV! How screamingly unfair! It's absolutely not the TV set's fault!

And on top of that, they are calling these faithful servers pretty much "a box full of the worst toxic waste"! No, that's totally intolerable! What an offence!

Let's start an Old TV Set's Rights Group, right now! Before this horrible abuse continues!

Il Musico, owning an old TV set, and NOT shooting it!

Well.... if you think about it with this digital transition tube tvs are essentially "crippled", and if you know anything about horses you know the only way to deal with a cripple is to shoot it.... now maybe bullets cause it to leak toxins, but I'm fairly certain if you use enough cases of TNT you can get a much more impressive clean-up bill than 7k.
