Yoli here, preparing for a major poolside bash honoring my Dad and G'Pa, Ash(leigh)'s Step-dad (he raised her from a pup and she loves him much. He considers me his kid as well.) There'll be a potful of peeps here and more food and beverage than is legal in most jurisdictions.
We have all sorts of neat presents (NO neckties!) for the honorees and we've decorated the trees with Japanese lanterns, Pinatas loaded with dad-type gifts as well some loaded with stuff for the kids, and lights for later.
We hired a Karaoke dude and, when we found out HE has a wife and two kids we invited all of them too. Now, if I can get through singing Dad's favorite song without breaking down AND survive Dad's rendition of "I Did It Myyyyyyyyy Wayyyyyyyy" all will be well.
I just hope that when one of the dads breaks the really serious Pinata the golf balls therein don't knock anyone coo-coo or the tees (golf, not shirt) don't puncture any arteries.
Anyway...Yoli wishes all the fathers here a most Happy Father's Day, even if you've had your baby-makers snipped off (and not the applicator spout:dong: as well, I hope.)
Par-tay on! (Thank God I am not expected at the office tomorrow!)
Love to all, and your balls (if any!)
Yoli,
The Hostess With The Mostest
PS: Ash(leigh) sends her felicitations as well.

Thanks! We had a very nice day! Got a chance to yack with other dad types and I think now is a good time to remind my fellow testicularly challanged men out there that there is Adoption and Foster care and a LOT (too many) kids who just want a family to love them who is not high on Meth or a sexual preditor.

Today, for the first time, I attended my local Pride Celebration. It's held at the performing arts center that's a short walk from my house. Even though my wife and I have lived here for ten years, this was the first time I walked over to see it. (It certainly won't be the last time!)
What first caught my eye was that there seemed to be more children than adults at the celebration of diversity. Families were there in abundance. There was free face painting, animals to pet, and carnival rides for the kids.
I walked through talking with people at the various information booths, one of which was a local adoption agency that had three people to handle all of the inquiries. The person I talked with emphasized that his agency targeted gay and lesbian couples because they had made careful decisions about their desire to spend the time and resources necessary to raise children. They tended to make better parents than heterosexual couples who wanted to adopt!
If I had had my camera with me, there were only a couple of photos that I would have liked to have taken. One was of a family group an extremely good-looking little boy of about 5 or 6 (about the age of my grandson) who was bouncing with excitement as he walked along holding the hands of his two daddies. He was a very dark-skinned African-American, and his two daddies were both blonde and blue-eyed. Another family group was two Anglo men and four little boys (about 5 through 12 or 13) who looked like Mexican-American siblings. The love was palpable.
The only other photo that I would have considered was of the standard county fair dunk-tank. This one had a line of kids waiting to throw baseballs to drop an adult into the water. The large sign at the beginning of the line read
Dunk a Dyke
Float a Fairy
Baptize a Bear
Tank a Tranny

Yoli here (barely.)
Well, as the local paper put it when reporting on our Fadda's Day Par-tay..."Among the survivors were..."
I'm alive!
We had a great time and I'm hopeful that all of the dads here did likewise.
The Karaoke guy's wife, a cutie too, had one too many and decided to do a pole dance on a tree. Thank God it was late and the kids had been sequestered in the big house.
Ash(leigh)'s dad fell into the pool, fully clothed, as he was backing up to get a better picture of the mob. At least kept his new camera from getting wet.
One of the kids rode MY bicycle into the pool. They're still looking for his ASS!
Dad did OK on his signature song. I got applause for mine but Ash(leigh) got a standing "O" (from the men, anyway,) for losing her top on a dive into the pool. (Why didn't I think of that?:()
The food was (and will be for another three days,) great. Leftovers? Anyone???
The booze was, well, booze.
Yoli
Movin' slow today.
