Breakfast at Riverwinds

So this morning, I go over to Riverwinds as he is cooking breakfast for his son and new daughter-in-law and me wants to have food too.

After the normal hello, how do you do, I go out for a smoke and notice a soft spot of the floor in the front porch. Shout to Riverwind he needs to get that fixed and he says his land-lord has been notified.

The smoke was over so I went back in, and yes, you can guess, went right through the floor.

A small talk with Riverwind ensued in which he was busy with his gravy and whatever was on my mind will just have to wait (probably not realizing me was stuck in a hole in his front porch). Thus me sat in a hole for a bit trying to convince him that his services were needed sooner than later.

🆘

He son did come and fish me out of this hole, but oh my, talk about a dedicated cook. Gravy, then you out of hole.

Breakfast was great by the way.

Dear Lord, what a rude surprise!

I hope there were no injuries to your person, Talula!

;)

Sounds like a lawsuit to me...of course, all you'd get is the cat...

I dunno about a lawsuit, clearly this was an attempt on talula's life. Obviously premeditated, based on River's nonchalance. Heheheheh. Of course, I can't seem to come up with a motive...

Unless this was River's way of getting revenge for all those times tal's unexpectedly stuck his hand through the cat-flap, scaring the hell out of an unsuspecting River...

Hey , look on the bright side, at least when you went through the floor, your foot didn't land in a leg hold trap 😄

I just want to say that,

When I am cooking, if you have a problem it's your problem not mine.

So here I am gravy just about done and "T" wants me to kill it because he is stuck in a hole in the floor. Now its been that way for some time and I have been stepping on the beam not stepping in the middle of the soft spot.

Just all of you remember, nothing takes me away from my stove when I am cooking, nothing.

When a great chef, like River, is cooking on his own stove, in his own kitchen, he has to be given wide latitudes in behavior towards the needs of others. He's engaged in making a masterpiece of culinary delight which will be ruined if interrupted.

Now I know why he calls that little floor pit, the "tal-hole."

I don't know.... But I do think my doctor will holler if I eat any more of Riverwind's Buttermilk pancakes. They are oh so good. But, my cholosterol would be in triple overdrive. Without question Riverwind does make the best pancakes. I just could not eat them everyday as my Doctor would have a fit at my cholosterol levels.

Anyone who wants to test OBB's proposition about River's world famous buttermilk pancakes needs to attend the next Midwest MoM. River has promised to make Sunday brunch for the entire crew in attendance....
