If one were to look back in time when the Egyptians and Romans had slaves, a lot of work was done, with minimal cost and not that many guards. Not that they should be whipped, beaten or tortured. But then isn't mandatory castration a kind of torture?

Anyone who has intentionally caused bodily harm to anyone I think should be placed into isolation and not permitted to come in contact with other prisoners. They are beasts, and deserve to be treated like the beasts they are and never again see the light of day. If anything, give them rope and a cell with an eye hook on the ceiling and a wooden chair. Maybe they will do everyone a favor.

At what point do we decide that someone is less human than others? Have we given up on rehabilitation? Are some acts forgiveable and other acts are not? If a prisoner is cleared by DNA evidence and we have treated him in this way what have we created? Will this be the rule for women's prisons.

I have had to forgive not for them but for myself. I could not be as happy today if I was still carrying around all those negative emotions. Yes I was harmed and might even be happier if it had not happened. When you have healed it is easier to put the events into perspective.

Thanks Tugon for your last three sentences. Basically that is what has to happen for your own peace of mind and being able to live a "serene" type of life. To continue to harbor the hate and desire for revenge only tends to shorten your own lifespan through other health issues. It does not mean "forgetting" what happened, but moving on past it so you can live more peacefully with yourself. No one knows why some things happen. We can only try to make ourselves better for the experience and realize that it is not the way to act or react. Healing does come, but we have to accept the event(s) that have happened and move on from there.

If you in prison you have lost some of your rights. It doesn't mater what the prisoner want's, it's the punishment.

NOTE: Males convicted of pedophilia and child molestation or abuse have a very short life in most prisons unless they are put in solitary.

I know for a fact the many convict of child molestation or abuse are not guilty of the offense as it's their word against the child, and many times the children are manipulated by the way there are questioned the questioner not taking no for an answer, and asking leading questions. A witch hunt followed by the person being rail roaded to jail. This alone without physical evidence most do not deserve to be castrated. If there is physical evidence why not a full MTF sex change 👹 and then into the general population 👹 👹
