Sounds like my grandad's workshop. If he and grandma had a fight, she'd go clean his shop.

When I was a working person, I learned early on to keep my desk clean, I only put out the work that I was currently working on and when I left my cube it would be put back in the folder and back in the drawer. My managers did not, it would drive them nuts that I always had a clean desk, they would come in and ask about some project and I would open the drawer and pull out the folder right after I put what I was working on back away.

No it was not OCD, it was good management of my time.

Now how many times have you gone into a bosses office, or the president of a company or the USA their desk is always clean and the only thing on it is what they are currently working on, and when done its back in a folder and off there desk.

Today my desk is a mess, crap all over the place, the only person that sees it is my son who is so OCD I keep my desk messy to fuck with him.
