Thought I had seen a picture of Roman scissors. I have to suspect that, since it's tough to cut fabric without them, scossors may well have been invented several times, something which also seems to be the case with paper.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scissors

What Leonardo might have done, is invent left-handed scissors, which have to be considered a boon to anybody who is left handed.

While there aren't clocks in the slot machine or table games areas of casinos, a number of casinos in Las Vegas (Palace Station, The Rio, The Orleans) do have clocks in the sports books so bettors can get their bets in before betting closes for an event.

Leonardo did work for years on the "Mona Lisa." Leonardo was an experimenter, and the pigment used on the lips has faded out, so it's hard to tell where the edges of the lips actually are. A number of early copies of the painting exist, and some art critics think that one or two of these can give you a better idea of what the painting originally looked like, than the actual painting in the Louvre does. The original painting was wider than it was high, with a column on either side of the woman's figure. The picture was cut down to its present size by a Frenchman.

Not criticisms, just other viewpoints. An interesting post.

There is a mammal called the American Pygmy Shrew. Its body is about 5 cm in length including a 2 cm long tail and it weighs about 2.5 g.

I am quite sure that most adult human males have penises that are bigger than its whole body much less its penis.

As for huts with chicken's legs. Yes. In Russian tales it is called izbushka na kur'ih nozhkah (избушка на курьих ножках).

Like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uk7Aum9dNkw) ;)?

PS. Oh, I'm quickly going offtopic here. 🍑👋

Most people might know the "Hut on fowl's legs" as Baba Yaga's Hut from Mussorgsky's orchestral piece "Pictures at an Exhibition". It's a nice musical segment but it won't carry any mystical or ghostly meaning beyond about three minutes ten or twenty seconds of good music

Here's a piano transcription:

Did you know that ?

Some years ago... I tried to use a MAGNETIC compass in my non-hybrid car, and you know what? It didn't work! I had to stop, walk away from the vehicle and low and behold the needle did finally hold steady on magnetic North, but inside the vehicle it was unusable. Now, as for a mechanical compass... I would imagine there is no electro-magnetic field anywhere near strong enough to disable a mechanical compass inside a hybrid car... Are you certain about this? I mean, maybe the mechanical compass you have was defective from a previous accident, perhaps it was dropped on the drafting room floor or something.

P.S. Oh my GOD!! Excuse me, I did not properly read your posting moi621, you did in fact specify that a "mechanical compass in a plastic case..." WELL DUH! My mechanical compass does not "work" inside it's plastic case either, even in a non-hybrid car. Good point there, inside the plastic case... I need better attention to detail when I read things.
