Re: Todd - screen name change to Danya
Hi Danya,
First, you've got to do what makes you happy. But, I do have some thoughts.
Your sir name, oh, bad choice of words, sorry,
your last name is your link to history, it says something about the greater you. It says something about where your piece of the puzzle fits.
If you don't want to recognise all that have made you who you are, then change it, but if your family and it's history is important to you then you should keep it.
Just some thoughts, but as always, I'll support whatever you decide is best for you.
Love Pauline.

Re: Todd - screen name change to Danya
Hi Pauline,
I love the 'sir name' humor!
Beyond my father's parents, I don't have any idea of what my family history was. Long ago, for the most part or so it seems, I left all that behind anyway for my own sanity. I feel like I was essentially left out of the family because no one knew what to make of me or how to love me for who I am. There was no 'greater me' that I genuinely felt a part of.
OTOH, I don't need to decide what to do about this tonight. The visit with my therapist kind of veered into directions I hadn't intended so we had no time to discuss the last name thing. Got to the first name part but that was it!
I appreciate your input.
Hugs,
Danya
