For the record, none of them are biological sons.
3 are Godsons, 2 are Nephews, plus strays.
Strays... LOT'S of strays. If they ever decided to make a movie of "The Pied Piper," all they'd need to do is hire Paolo for the lead and all of the kids would gather and follow him.
I've been a department store with him, standing and talking, when a stray kid walked up and took his hand. I've been in a supermarket with him and watched stray kids try to jump out of shopping carts into his arms. Women he's never seen before have suddenly handed babies to him to hold (without asking first) when they needed two hands for a task.

Five offspring plus strays = five plus future Vaders unleashed on the world? Yup, I can live with that.

Keep in mind, this ploy doesn't work for Matthew (10) and it won't work for you lot either...
...well...OK...it DOES work for him...sometimes...
I mean, it only worked with the Heely's repair kit, the skate shoes to begin with, the video games, the trip to see TSO in concert despite the weather when Jesus (A) told me not to go, Avatar series on DVD, the Nintendo DES + games, the new baseball gloves/bat...
...yeah, OK, it worked, I confess!

How did you happen to acquire the Godsons and Nephews? Did their parents not want them anymore?
How did you happen to acquire the strays? Did they follow you or one of the kids home?

The Strays: Swept through the local Walmart and any that stuck to his legs just got dragged home. The others: He just took them over, fighting off all the demons with his light sabre. He saved them from mean and nasty aliens who had abducted them.

I do not have full time legal custody of the 4 remaining under-age, however, unless I'm at work - as Kristoff and Jesus, etc., can attest, one or more of them is almost always following me around. Now, when school's out for whatever reason, you'd think I had custody of them!
As far as strays, it's not unusual to pick up a few. This happens a LOT during travel-team baseball season.

My (semi-educated) guess is that these kids want Paolo to be a father to them and that it is mostly boys with only mothers who want him to be their father. Did any of the kids say anything about wanting him to be their father?

I don't make it a habit of interviewing parents, so there's no way to know what's up with stray kids following me around. In this day and age, it's enough to make you a nervous wreck, since you never know what you can get accused of.
When I used to work at the photo lab in the local mall, I used to call security at least once a week to come pick up a lost kid.

If my hypothesis is correct, you might have fewer strays following you around if you disguise yourself as a woman.
