I guess the demise of the Political Board had a lot to do
with less banning.
And then there is the case of a nudnik - - - bobover3 :tongueout

Couldn't give you an exact number, but it has happened on occasion.

Bobover3 was one of those that had a life time ban and was given yet another chance, but alas of the many reasons he was finally ban was that he only posted on the political forum, he had no other reason for coming then to be as you say a nudnik.
The urban dictionary Nuduik - "A person who's really annoying !" someone like Bobover3.

I'm glad the political board is gone. And thanks for letting me back in after getting banned.

There were a few times I thought I might get a warning!

I, too, am glad the political board is gone.

I purposely stay away from politics on sites like this and don't discuss the intimate details of my life on the political sites I visit. They just don't mix well. Besides, someone ranting about politics has never changed my mind and I'd be very surprised to learn I ever changed anyone else's opinion.

The political websites ban people every day but those users simply recreate a new ID and start all over again. Sometimes you find the news story of some newspaper or website that dumped all of its discussion after it gets so toxic they can't control it.
Many websites permit profanity in the disqus comments. That's a really pathetic free-for-all and isn't worth the time to type a sentence.
Disqus (BTW) is a commenting program used by many web sites that aren't political and creating an ID on it is dirt simple. It's a weak tool if the users want to go nuts and demand the website tolerate their nonsense.
This VB Bulletin Board is a strong tool. That's how the EA can keep control of things. Which is good.
I don't miss the politics here. I can still play "romp and stomp" with the best of them. However, it reached a point where I was happy to see the Politics Board go away. The last few political posts dealt with Same-Sex Marriage and when the California Prop 8 Decision came down from the Supreme Court that dam broke. The matter was over and settled. Transgender Rights needs a good push but that's not the EA's job to do such a thing or to lead such a movement. The best way to support transgendered people's rights is to create understanding of them in the general public. That will happen.
And "nvrgag44" is correct - - no one changes their political views based on a comment string.
