1963 JFK was the first president to pardon a turkey which has become an annual tradition. Yesterday two birds were given such an honor to live the rest of their lives at Mt Vernon, which should only be a couple years, they don't live that long.

River

PETA opposed the pardons.

I hope some President either dresses as an 1800's re-eneactor

and demonstrate the ole' way a homeowner would put down a Turkey,

clean it, etc. before it is ready for a grocery store presentation. gobble gobble

video available on YouTube, I wish.

I will eat my butchered animals but God Knows I cannot do the killing, not even a live lobster into the boiling water.

My 64 y.o. friend is still traumatized from some event around age 6 when sweet Grandma on the farm,

while walking together, reached down, snapped a chicken's neck, dragged it through a water trough and started plucking without missing a step.

Moi

With sincere Thanks this Thanksgiving to all those butchers out there.

Hope ya'll enjoy it. I'm off to dinner and a birthday party for my Mom who's 90 tomorrow, too.

That's not a solar flare, that's your birthday cake... ;)

Isn't River about 90 yrs old?

i don't know.

We only put 9 candles on my Mother's cake and that didn't require a fire marshal or EPA approval or anything of that sort.
