"Bad" movies can be perversely fun - you sit there cataloging the ways in which they're bad. Boring movies don't even reach that level of interest. These movies are soon forgotten, which is their one grace. An example is in theaters now - The Cold Light of Day. The producers enlisted two genuine stars - Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver - to rope in audiences (presumably for huge paychecks - even stars gotta eat). But the stars have minor parts. The real stars look good but have no screen presence. The plot might have been recovered from a bubble-gum wrapper. See once to treat insomnia.

I didn't hear anything about that movie. It will be on my list to miss when it hits cable.

I watched Hop recently. I'm sorry I did.

The whole thing is very paint-by-numbers. It is also extremely forced. No motivations evolve naturally.

Usually I will pause a movie if I need to leave the room for any length of time. I didn't bother with Hop. I didn't miss a damn thing. In fact, I think I was playing around with a game on my tablet the majority of the running time. Really I only watched it because there was nothing else on, and I wanted the TV as background noise. As background noise, it was fine. That's about the nicest thing I can say about it. Though, I probably should have just turned on the radio.

I've not seen HOP, I have no intentions of seeing it either. Now the WORST Movie ever conceived 🤮 is one of MacWolf's favorites of all time. I purchased it as a joke on Amazon it cost $0.01 plus shipping. I could not make it more than 20 min in to it before I turned it off in disgust!

This was Battle Field Earth. 🤮

anyway thats my $0.02 worth and thats 2x what the movie was worth.

Ken

P.S. I shipped this abomination of a "Movie" to Mac.

I remember BattleField Earth -- it should only be viewed when drunk or high and then with the purpose of snarking the movie.

There are parts that are so cringe worthy bad that it's best to mock them.

Just googled Battlefield Earth. It was a John Travolta project, based on an L. Ron Hubbard novel. Figures. Another gift from Scientology.

And it was such a good book, the movie was a joke.

Yes ranks as one of the worst movies of all time, I lasted about 10 minutes.

I liked the book, Battlefield Earth. Ron Hubbard wasn't a bad Sci-fi writer. The movie was so bad that I liked it. I've actually watched it several times.

I saw one today that I recommend you avoid: The Cold Light of Day. Although it has Sigourey Weaver and Bruce Willis, Bruce isn't around for long, and Sigourney ruins any legacy she might have as an actor with this performance. Some people obviously don't know when to quit. I liked Sigourney, but now, I won't see her as she was in Alien, I'll see her as a past her prime old lady that can't act (possibly she didn't have much of a script to work with).

This movie was full of action including a car chase that have about every car chase cliché you could imagine. It's one of the first action movies I've seen that I was so bored during all the killing I almost walked out. I always knew what was going to happen next, because I'd seen it before in other movies.

The main character was another dark haired young man with a three day growth of beard. Even he was a cliché.

God! I hated this movie. What a waste of an afternoon.

I wish I had read your review first. It's not wasting the money that's so bad. It's the 2 hours that could have been spent doing something else. Boring, a word you also used, describes this movie best.
