1. You must know how to properly use a hypodermic needle for injection and also the proper use of aseptic techniques. You can learn this easily from someone with medical experience. You must avoid injecting into a vein or artery and you must avoid contaminating the equipment and thereby yourself with bacteria.

2. You must use a "safe" type of pure alcohol.

For pure alcohol sources take a look at Wikipedia entry for

"Neutral Grain Spirit". There are three brands of almost pure over the counter sources available in some U.S. states - Everclear, Golden Grain Alcohol, and Gem Clear.

Do not use rubbing alcohol or anything not meant to be taken internally.
