The Siterone decreased my T level to under 50 and he said he would castrate me. I immediately stopped the Siterone at that point because it had served its purpose (and would have needed a refill anyway). I had no noticable unwanted side-effects in the three weeks period it took before the surgery. I'm only a sample of one but there was no problem for me.

For what period of time were you on the daily dose of 150mg.

And just because your T level was under 50 that was sufficient justification for surgical removal? Did you have hard small testes? Were they infarcted?

It would be nice if that is all it took and to find such a great Dr. person to follow through.

Prior to my starting CA, I was taking an injection of Depo Provera every 4 weeks and 100mg of Spironolactone daily for over 2 years and more recently had done some injections of 100 proof vodka so my testes were atrophied and infarcted- confirmed with a surgical biopsy. At that point my urologist told me he would wait 3 months to see if they would improve, measured with another T blood test. He said he would remove them if it was similar or lower than my current T level was (just under 100). Just to be certain my T level would be lower, I added 150 mg daily of Siterone for about the last 2 months plus did some more injections with 190 proof Everclear.

So there were some other factors in the background that provided reason for him to remove my testes. He didn't know about them because a self-induced condition may not have been covered by my insurance. Another thing that I think helped was that I didn't go to my PCP complaining of any symptoms of testicle failure or low T. He discovered my testes were shrunken and very hard during an annual physical so it didn't appear that I was desiring to have them removed.
