If you ARE a pervert you are in a LOT of good company judging from the hits on the Archive. At least we are here on the message boards and not reading the stories 24-7.

Paolo, what IS the average numbers of hits in a 24 hour period on the archive stories?

...inquiring minds want to know...😄

21.22 hits per minute average on the story archive, or30,557 hits per day

" you say?

HOLY COW BATMAN! DANGER WILL ROBINSON!

If we are all THAT popular... I think this place ought to qualifiy for a federal grant or something. I mean, seriously now, the National Endowment for the Arts paid for the (late) artist Robert Maplethorp to make a photo of a crusafix inverted in a jar of his urine titled "Piss Jesus." And I would bet that not as many people looked at that as there are looking at our stories every week.

Damn! WOW! This place is POPULAR!

And to think of all the shame and guilt I had been feeling whenever I really got into a story here.... "what would my friend ...... say if he/she knew I liked reading stuff like this?" ...... "what would my associates think?"

HELL, THEY ARE PROBABLY READING THE SAME STORIES. Now I don't feel like such an unusual sex obsessed pervert anymore, now I know that I am just one of the ordinary sex obsessed perverts, just one of the 30K PLUS that visit here every day!

WOW! You guys are awsome!

Regarding hits to a web page, you usually have to do a bit of additional analysis to really understand what it means.

I think "hits" often refer to page loads. So if one user browses several pages I think it counts as multiple hits. Like if I come on here, I usually browse about five pages and then usually submit a couple new topics. Submitting a new topic probably counts as multiple pages, since there is the previewing and extra edits.

So you probably need to divide the number by 10 or so to get to the average number of people/entities who access the site.

And I said "entities" because I think search engine web crawlers might count as hits on the site as well.

So after all that analysis, it may be that only a few thousand actual interested people visit the site per day. But that is still a lot, and the overall membership here shows that there is a wide interest.
