I am trying to put together a mechanic for castrated males (might do one for females to, not sure.) it will probably be a template, but it could be a feat as well.... not sure. Or it might end up as something else entirely.

As for setting material, I hope to make this function in any setting. The setting I personally am working on is highly different from most D&D settings, for example iron is rare, magic is nothing like what it normally is, and there are no elves or dwarves (all races except humans are my own homebrews).

Also you forgot one instance of eunuchs possible in D&D- Asian campaigns are fairly popular these days, which could include palace eunuchs.... also the aforementioned harem guards in Book of Erotic Fantasy, which while eunuchs, don't really fit what I'm looking for.

I have not seen this book of erotic fantasy, but I did see a book called "Oriental Adventures" which may have a similar entry.

perhaps a reason for the worst shop in the world, the "Eunuchery" where it is done.

I've played before - but it always ended up being sparatic. It started to get to the point where 3 of the 6 players (incl DM) could get together as planned... everyone else got called into work, etc.

Anyway, in one session, my cousin got the idea that her theif should sneak up on an orc or giant (some large create at any rate) who was taking a leak into some bushes ahead of us and slowly reach up, grab its balls, and slice 'em off! Needless to say the guys in the group promptly closed their legs. The DM had her roll for damage (somwhat minimal), but it put the creature into a rage/fury which made the ensuing battle even tougher than it would have been... I wonder if theis is where my castration fetish came from...

A ffriend of mine had told be about a particular campaign he played where his high level character was to be married. During the night before the big day, someone/thing snuck in and severed his family jewels with a magical knife so that they could not be restored. I think there was some epic plot behind it all - to force him to serve some evil doer in the hope of getting his junk back so that he could marry his true love - never did hear what ultimately happened though.

Anyway, it's probably easy to bring such things into the game. If you're looking for rules/effects, loss of strength/aggression is an obvious (unless of course it just happened.

I always found it a bit odd to hear D&D players talk about the fantasy like an event that actually happened.

*shrug* In some ways it did, if not quite in the way most events happen.
