About 36 years ago, a couple of Finnish girls told me that the Lapp women castrate the excess young male reindeer in their herds, every spring, by biting off their testicles. I guess they weren't kidding.

Actually, they crush the cords using their teeth. It works just like a Burdizzo, without the expense of the modern mechanical device. Personally, I prefer elastrators on lambs. I have had no call to castrate a reindeer....

A-1,
You are entitled to your opinion.

A sick mind is a terrible thing to waste!

I too have seen it done this way. Actually it's the only way that I have personally seen it done. But I do know of other ways. The purse is sliced open just enough for the testicle to be popped out. Then the testicle is severed with the teeth and then spit into a bowl which I or somebody else may be holding. The cord is put back into the purse and then the other testicle is popped out, severed with the teeth, and spit out with the cord being put back in. And of course the guy who does this is chewing on pinon sap or pine tar with an occasional shot of whiskey. A healing salve is applied over the wound and the animal is then set free although he is in no shape to be enjoying his freedom at least for a couple of days. I always assumed that it was just us Hispanics and Native Americans who did it this way. But I see that it must be more widespread than that.

Please Do not get any ideas.
Do not think castration is that easy to do on a human.
You need sterile conditions.
The artery and veins need to be tied and cauterized to prevent bleeding when the cords retract inside the body.
The scrotal sack needs to be closed.
If a farmer looses a sheep it is of little loss to him. Just a few $$$$. If something goes wrong with you, it can cost thousands of $$$$$ in the hospital. Or worse your life.
