Thank you all. I wish I could hug each and every one of you. And if you will forgive me for turning this into some theatrical debacle; this will be a very special birthday. After losing my last job after my employers business closed and being in massive amounts of debt it all looked pretty grim.
Since then I have found a new job that I love very much and would happily do (and DO do) just for fun. They treat me with respect and pay me very well and at last I feel I have purpose and meaning in my life. I have some form of intrinsic value! (sounds like some kind of painful medical condition! lol) and I'm proud to say that my job is my life. I wake up each morning eager to what I do. And often find myself in work early. And don't even care about saying so.
But I am reminded that I could not have done this with each and every person in my life. You all form a rich tapestry of development, which - if even a single piece were missing - the puzzle would be incomplete. I look back on my life at the good and bad things and realise that life needs sun AND rain to grow.
I live with friends I love very dearly and make no apologies for sounding dramatic because nobody could possibly understand what this all means for me. I can safely say I am the richest person alive.
And for the first time I am so very glad to BE alive. Sounds weird to say that doesn't it? I feel like I can do anything. I finally found the edge of the Matrix. I'm proud to be different. My body is blessed by different qualities than other people. What makes me different also makes me special.
I offer the lowest of bows to every single friend. To every single enemy. And my deepest apologies to anyone I've hurt along the way.
Well, bollocks to it. I should stop writing.

I am so very happy for you! I'd heard about this new job through two mutual Archive friends (one of whom apparently thinks he is some kind of golden idol statue thing and the other seems to want to play at being Mickey Mouse), whom I care a lot about, and they were both really excited for you and I was really pleased. I didn't feel I could write 'Congratulations' to you, though, until you officially announced this here.
It is terrific that you now have a wonderful career, not just a job, where you can put some of your many talents to real use. You are, indeed, a special and beautiful young person who so richly deserves what you now have. A career that you love in addition to your many friends. I can only wish you the very best and say I hope some day we will have the chance to meet.
BTW, I love your reference to 'the edge of the Matrix'!

Missed doing this yesterday, so belatedly, a happy birthday wish for you, Rog. Looking forward to seeing you this summer - we'll have to hoist one in honor!
