No matter how high the cost of airfare River's pancakes will make it all worth it. Memo to self, bring extra glucophage.

I think the first time that I tried them (down in Hell, Indiana several years ago), I ate 31 or 32 of them (and no I am not over-weight - not by very much). They're just so good, it is hard to say no....

I have yet to taste any of River's pancakes but I have savored superb French toast he's prepared accompanied by bacon cooked just right. For a chef of River's stature, there's simply no allowing anything to disturb his work.

There was no obvious harm to Talula, so it's clear everything was handled just right and with the proper priorities.

From May 15th, I thought I should give an update on issues with my porch.

Today Oct 10th some 5 months later the makeshift patch was removed and a new floor was laid down. Of course we had to clear everything out and sweep it of course. We measured the porch marked the wood for cutting and I walked into the house for a soda and

FELL THROUGH THE PORCH DOING DAMAGE TO MY PERSON AS WELL AS MY PRIDE.

The good news is I was not cooking. OH and Talua thought it was funny as hell.

The new porch floor is in nobody will be falling in again.

River the Carpenter.

One word - Karma.

What goes around comes around, buddy!

ROFLMAO!

Talula had EVERY right to just howl!

Seriously, I hope you're OK...

Great running (falling?) gag.

On a related note, I have three holes in my kitchen floor, because I've gutted the basement and am re-doing duct work; I forgot one of the installers was still working after my bath this morning, and when putting on my housecoat in the hall upstairs, I heard a voice from below "well helloooooo nurse"; I looked down and saw I was giving a full-frontal view up between my legs to the guy.

No falling involved, except for my stature amongst local tradesmen now (hey, I was cold and wet; shrinkage happens!)

Now that it's safe to walk on River's porch, feel free to drop by and say to him. He prefers the Secret Eunuch Greeting: stick your hand through the doggie door and yell "Gotcha."

Plan Nine From Outer Space - part two

Aliens nab Sam and talk him into luring Rupert out the cat door with tuna fish, salmon or anchovies.
