Re: Yasou
Yasou? Well, gesundheit! Some Vitamin C should help.
Y.
Sorry. I thought "Yasou" was a Wolfie-sneeze.

Re: Yasou
"Yasou" is the mess that modern Greek has made out of the ancient greeting "Hygeia sou" [Good Health to you]. In ancient Greek, it would have been pronounced Hü-GAY-Yah Soo. In Modern Greek, before being contracted, it would have been pronounced "Ee-YEE-Yah soo" which became "Yasou".
The Greek language, once so rich and comprehensive as to give rise to the saying: "The Greeks have a word for it.", has become pitifully impoverished and corrupted, partly through the influence of the Turks who long ruled Greece. I have been told that an effort is now being made to revive Classic Greek and that a newspaper is being published in Athens in Classic Greek.

Re: Yasou
Baggie,
I have a fairly close friend who's a professor of Greek Classics at one of the many colleges and universities here. I find it fascinating and I hope for the resurrection you mention.
Said prof is a man of many talents, BTW (I'm not referring to sex here, as it's not that kind of relationship.) He is a gifted performer on a woodwind instrument and both piano and pipe organ; drives his little classic English roadster in rallies; has at least three younger girls on the string at any given time; and is a gourmet chef to boot.
Come to think of it...Why am I not part of his harem??? Easy...I don't want to be although he's had the welcome mat out from the moment we met.
Sincerely,
Lysistrata, AKA Yoli
