LA and / or Vegas MOM event?

Post by bobbie (imported) »

OK I here many saying they want a meeting in Vegas. I am not too sure just how that event would be handled. If the interests is high among the group and details can be worked out I think it could also be possible. As it stands now Ralph and I will be going to LA on vacation. We would also be going through Vegas either on the trip out or on the trip back. So it may be possible to have both meetings of MOM in fall.

To see what kind of interests there is please vote in the poll and make a posting in the message board on your choice. Think the September 21-24 will still be in the LA area. So the weekend before or after could be the Vegas meeting.

Couldn't help myself. I added Laughlin, and seven corners (just around from six). If you vote for 7 (or 6) I will know you are a sick nasty fuck like me - I do NOT need company, thank you!

Thanks,Kristoff.

I did voted for 7 corners (can you explain, where 7 c is?,for us foregneirs?;)) I know where the 5 corners is,just around the 4 corners, but I would rather teach you how to swim in the Colorado river. 🍑👋

Laughlin is my choice, I am not a gambler.

Vegas is too commercial and also expensive, unless you "regular". I only go there to see my friends, who live there. Somebody here "dissed" my favorite resort there and I have to say this: Most of the newest Casinos are build on the Indian reservations, however the quality and service does not seem to suffer. Most of the employees are non-tribal and the tribes have benefits to attract the non-native population, which is the majority of Americans. They do offer an affordable health care insurance.

Anyway,Kristoff..ready for a swim? Huevon.🙄

In both Minneapolis and St Paul there are intersections in the downtown areas referred to as seven corners. The one in Minneapolis doesn't get referred that was as much any more. The one in St Paul is rather well known, I understand maybe even a bit famous (rather on the order of the "Witch's Hat" in Prospect Park, Minneapolis - try that one). The St Paul location is famous also for "Seven Corners Hardware." One of their brags is that if you can't find it there, you won't find it anywhere. I've never stumped them, even without the proper name of something - just vague descriptions....

This child don't swim any more.... Sorry!

How about Winnemucca, Carson City, or Ely, Nevada at a local ladies' house for gentlemen? I have had some invites to go to several places while I was passing through there that I had never capitalized on. Even though I never have any money, they always seem to talk to me for some reason (actually everybody does). There are also these cool hot springs out in the middle of nowhere near the village of Austin, Nevada that have ruins of several lost civilizations, the last being the ancient hippie culture. Plus there is nothing like hearing wild burros hawing in the night time.

I didn't mean to imply the Avi was a low quality casino--I've lodged there myself on a few occasions, and, while I mentioned the food wasn't distinguished, that's true of most casinos that have little or no competition. Eat at the Gold Strike in Jean some time, or at Railroad Pass. The rooms are okay, the casino itself was remodeled within the last year. I mentioned that it was a tribal casino in explanation of the fact that it sits by itself in an undeveloped area along the Colorado River. Not sure how big the reservation is, but it extends some distance to the west of the casino. If you look on a map, you'll find the Avi is seven miles from the rest of the Laughlin casinos. I presumed most people, if they went to Laughlin, would like to be somewhere near the River Walk that runs between all the casinos on Casino Drive, except Harrah's and the Tropicana (which used to be the Ramada Express, and is across the street from the riverfront casinos. The old Flamingo is now Aquarius.) The Avi, incidentally, put in a new swimming pool in the remodel. For those who like to be near shopping, there is a shopping center with a Smith's and I think also a Safeway, a mile away across the river from the Avi, in Arizona. Needles is something like twenty miles to the south.

So where is "Seven Corners"? Fairfax County, Virginia. Mendocino County, Caleefornia. Los Angeles? Oregon? I know of one in Albuquerque. There doesn't seem to be any in Nevada or any demolition derbies around yet. Where is the 7 <s?

Isn't "Seven Corners" some form of demolition derby? I think it'd be cool to watch if anyone ever sets up a track with seven incoming and/or outgoing lanes in one intersection: three at sixty degrees and four at forty-five all coming at each other. Watch out!!!
