How can this be possible???

Post by lupita (imported) »

I had my orchiectomy surgery done about two months ago by a plastic surgeon. When I had it done, I stopped taking testosterone blockers. Immediately after that, I notice a return of my sex drive as if I still had testicles producing testosterone. I have started taking testoterone blockers now, and now I don't really have a problem with too much sex drive. Does this mean that my castration was not successful? Is anybody familiar with this? Has this happened to you?

Your castration was probably successful. I have heard of this happening to others, there are similar accounts on this board. My feeling is that T blockers were surpressing ALL the testosterone in your body including that produced outside of your testicles. Going without the blockers and feeling the effects of testosterone again must have been a shock for you. Good luck and welcome to the zoo. --FLO--

Thank you for your reply. That certainly relieves some of my worries. What has increased my doubts too is the fact that I still have a lump that almost feel like a testicle, and some mild pain in the area, that after two months. The lump seems to get bigger at times. Is this normal too?

Bear in mind also that it takes a period of 2-4 weeks for the T to fully clear your system as well.

Others have reported that lump in there, too. It's accumulated "junk" from the surgery and you healing. It'll clear up in time.

Keep in mind also that even with castration, you still have the adrenals producing some T., which the blockers would have picked up and blocked, too.
