Thanks all of you for your good wishes and prayers for OBB "OneBallBoi". On Saturday he underwent surgery to remove part of his small intestines. He is back in his hospital room and in extreme pain. Is on a pain killer IV feed. Per the surgeon all went well. If have to wait to see if any infection develops from the leakage of the intestines into the stomach area. He will be in the hospital for most of the week the way it looks. Again Matt and I both thanks you for your wishes.
Bobbie,
OBB must take as much time as needed for his own sake. I underwent colon resection surgery over 3 years ago and it took me 2 weeks to get out of the hospital safely.
I went home after seven days in the hospital (surgery on day 1). I quickly returned to the hospital about 8 hours later on the same day. My body was not ready to be home. Before I could leave the hospital eating a meal at lunch and drinking plenty of fluids was required in order to go home.
I drank more fluids once home. Little did I know my plumbing was blocked and soon found myself puking up lunch. My friend Lyle took me back to the hospital and entered via the emergency room.
It took another 7 days before I was actually ready to go home. At that time, my digestive system acclimated to the new me, minus 12 inches of my large intestine. OBB's work on his small intestine could cause issues if he tries to go home too soon. Be safe and ask him to stay in the hospital as long as possible so recovery at home is successful and no emergency return trip is necessary.
Take care my friend,
