Email From Boards Working?

If you used something like the Zend Development Environment and debug line by line and investigate what the variables actually contain you might discover why it never gets to the actual emailing code.

But I guess you would need an account yourself from which you don't get emails to do that.

Have you tried to just take one of us members who do get email and another who does not and snoop around in the database(mysql?) tables and rows and see if there is something weird going on there, comparing them I mean. If theres a number wrong that disables something for one person but not the other.

Since _some_ do get email I guess you could rule out the core-system itself. So if I were you I'd try focus my error-searching to member-db-tables.

Wish I could be more helpful, but I've only used vBulletin once long ago before moving on to other solutions.

I have noticed that virtually all new sign-ups end up hung in the waiting for email confirmation category.

Can someone PLEASE confirm to me that email is being sent from the boards properly? Anyone who subscribes to threads, etc.

Sorry for the lag in responding, had some rituals in connection with the start of The Corn Moon. Anyhow, no notifications for quite some time. I re-checked my CP settings, they are OK.

I wonder if it might be the case that AOL ( and other ISPs) are filtering out the EA as spam/inappropiate sex, the way the Post Office does on its computers? Or maybe just a glitch in the software? Who knows?:(

It is not the case for AOL. I have all of my filtered spam mail dumped in my spam folder and check it regularly. It doesn't include any from the EA boards.
