How is Luvpain doing
I have not talked to him yet but I have been getting updates.
He is doing real good, talking and laughing.
I do have more information but will hold off until Luvpain gives me the ok to post it.
I will try to give a daily update.

Re: How is Luvpain doing
I spoke with Luvpain last night. He sounds very good. He is having his surgery today, but not the one he was hoping for.
More when I can.

Re: How is Luvpain doing
I spoke to luvpain this morning for a bit, he thinks he'll be out of the hospital shortly. The docs are still trying to regulate some of his meds... bah.
Maybe in a week or two we'll hear back from him. I'm missing him.

Maybe I'm being judgemental here, and maybe this isn't the right time to say this, but I knew the moment Luvpain started to talk about performing self surgery that he would be in trouble. I'm sorry he's in the hospital, and I'm sorry he's suffering. But what he has done has probably really messed up his life -- and probably is costing him much more than the $2000 it would take to get a "real" castration. I guess I'm a bit angry he's been such a "cheerleader" for castration and body modification, and here he's gone off what I consider the "deep end" and put himself in great danger. I just hope others don't take things into their own hands. I thought of all people Luvpain would have gotten a proper castration. I'm dissapointed in him, though happy he is alive. I wish him the best, and better judgement in the future.

I was coming home from a concert the night it happened. I called him while on my long drive back home and didn't get an answer, then I got home and something compelled me to look deeper into it and there were his posts about how he was doing it. I didnt have any warning. I knew he had been talking suicidally for the past few prior to his attempt at castration, but he never said he was going to go through with the castration. Had I know I would have certainly attempted to talk him out of it and maybe get some other folks involved.
I would go more into it, but I don't want to duvulge any private info on luvpain and too continue my complaint would lead to giving that info out...
I hope luvpain is alright, but I think we all agree that he's done something wrong on 11-22-03.
Regards,

Agree. I always shudder when I hear of castrations done either solo or with a "cutter".

Re: How is Luvpain doing
Grrr... I can hold my tongue no longer. The purpose of the entire medical profession is to keep one in agony for as long as possible so one has to return to the doctor as often as possible hoping to get better but never getting better, yet not let that person die because then the medical porfession will not be able to make the maximum amount of money. The entire medical profession is not about making patients better but extracting the maximum amount of money from each patient. I have not been to a doctor in years and even if I was bleeding to death, I would not go to a doctor.
I was one of the chosen few that new Luvpain was performing his self castration on that Saturday and I encouraged him. I am proud that I supported him. The only mistake he made was going to the hospital when things did not turn as he wished. When the doctors and hospitals have maxed out his insurance they will return him to us. Be patient.

Re: How is Luvpain doing
This thred was started to give updates on Luvpains condition, give him somthing to read when he gets out, a show of support. I was not started to condem, ridicule, degrade, or otherwise voice your oppions on what luvpain should have done or not. If any of you how posted had taken the time to talk to lufpain over the last couple of years he has always said he would castrate himself or at least try. Others have done this with success.
Luvpain knew the risk he was taking and if you bothered to read his IAM page at BME you would see that he already had a bag packed for a stay at the hospital. If you wish to be critical with his action wate untill he returns so he can defened himself or tell you to f o his choise.
Shit happens, no matter if you go to a doctor or not. As for not seeing a doctor, I see mine every 6 weeks, I had a bone scan again today and the numbers are back in the Green.
Once again, this thred is to post how luvpain is doing, not what he should have done.
