Tomorrow (April 10th) will be the eleventh anniversary of my castration and I thought it would be a good time to reflect on the changes I've experienced during that time.
Physically there is little difference; my height remains 5ft 11ins, I still weight 67 kilos and my waist size is still 30 inches. (I'm tall and skinny, but "fashionably slim" sounds nicer!) My skin is softer and I've lost a little muscle tone in my upper arms and legs. I don't have as much stamina as I did in 2001 but I suspect that is due to being 11 years older as much as lack of Testosterone. Taking a calcium supplement seems to have staved off osteoporosis, and I haven't yet grown man-boobs.
Mentally I feel much improved; I'm sure I have acquired the famous Eunuch Calm, to the extent that I handled a couple of life problems with a degree of serenity that surprised friends and family. I had one episode of depression in 2006, for which I was prescribed anti-depressants. Prior to castration I suffered regular bouts of depression which in hindsight I believe may have been gender-related.
Sex - I don't miss it and I enjoy having no desire for it - the sense of freedom is immense.
For me castration was a positive turning-point in my life and in eleven years I have not once regretted it. I owe a lot of thanks to the folk whose posts I studied when I started visiting this site twelve years ago. The information and advice I gathered proved invaluable.

Congratulations on the success that you have achieved in your life over the last 11 years. I am hopefull that I will be able to be as succesful as time goes on. But my 1 month seems great so far. Did you ever take HRT?

Yes. I had a low dose of HRT prescribed along with the Citalopram when I was suffering with depression. When I felt better after about 6 months I quit both HRT and Citalopram. I like life without Testosterone, but I know that some castrated guys get along better with a low dose of HRT.
