"Game Change", McCain & Sarah too

Post by moi621 (imported) »

"Game Change" the real story of Sarah Palin's Vice Presidential bid starring Julianne Moore. Already their are articles that the portrayal being eerily accurate.

If McCain was looking for a female ticket partner he certainly could have done better. Consider now retiring Maine Senator Olympia Snowe. (But, then I would have complained about four Senators on 2 major tickets 🙄 ) Who else might they have recruited? Ideas?

Was the recruitment of Sarah Palin a McCain failure or a McCain staff failure? My guess is the latter. His staff let him down. Sort of like an Eagleton deja vu. If y'know what I mean. :)

Moi

Why didn't they use Tina Fey?

Julianne Moore did very well. Maybe get her an award

Then there are those who think Palin was a brilliant VP candidate saddled with a dud at the head of the ticket. In fact, Palin was the best thing that ever happened to McCain. He would have lost much bigger without her. She brought energy, enthusiasm, and a fresh winning personality, none of which McCain might be accused of. Her debate with Biden was a tie.

Steve Schmidt, portrayed in the movie, said in interviews that Palin was a fruitcake, and they had no control over her. He says the movie is pretty well right on. Nicole Wallace, also portrayed in the movie, although she worked on the McCain campaign, wouldn't even vote for the ticket because Palin was on it.

One guy told me he would never vote for a Black man, but he hated Palin worse. I don't know whether he voted or not, but Palin on the ticket cost them his vote.

Steve Schmidt says that Palin wasn't ready or qualified to be President. Nicole Wallace says that the movie offers an authentic look at the McCain campaign.
