Re: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Please tell me that IDIOT Ridley Scott did not direct the American version. He has a way for messing up stories and adding his own WORTHLESS twists. ...something like the motorcycle jacket thing.
...you must remember that REAL characters like the one portrayed in "Girl" do not reason as people with different life experiences do...

What the hell set you off today? Hair sticking up for a big date? Imodium not working?
Laugh with me, please. It is a reasonably nice day.
You're alive. The world won't end in this year. And the stars are still in the sky.

Re: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
For the last three afternoons I have made a
"Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" sandwich as I described earlier.
It is good.
Sits well in the tummy.
I must admit, whereas they eat one slice of open faced sandwich, I eat two.
America!
The music is nothing I would chose to listed to alone, but in the context of the
film, it is great.
I hope they make more, even if the actors change.
Good concept.

Re: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
I e-mail with Hakan in Istanbul all the time..
I think his ID is Kizihakan here or something like that. Opps, changed to Hakan1975
He is well traveled and has this to say about the sandwich
--------------------------------------------------------------------
It is called in fact not the European type of but rather Nordic type of sandwich...They are called open sandwiches in the Nordic area of Denmark, Sweden and Norway...
Similar to French/Belgium Tartines but open sandwiches of Nordics are cold served. They usually use egg, cold fish (somon mostly), butter, lettuce, sometimes mustard, cheese etc.. (of course not all of them together) prepared in accordance to your taste. They can be eaten throughout the day, in the morning, at the lunch or even at dinner with a glass of wine
find attached the original photo of what I had when I was in Copenhagen Denmark, (was served on top of a bread)
--------------------------------------------------------------
The image showed a heap of lox/smoked salmon - the not out of the can slices and some scrambled eggs. Much more hearty then what Danial Craig serves.
I am paying more attention to the more subtle back ground music, rather then the
in your face music which I also, strangely, like. Remember Moi hates music, I regard it as noise. I prefer back ground TV to music. Or news radio.
The best music in cinema is when you don't hear it but, would notice if it was missing.
If you listen for it, there is that dark, subliminal sound.
Considering the story, and how long the winters are there
,
I believe the people who chose and matched the music to this movie deserve
lots of credit. Please let me know what you think of the lowest volume back ground music in this flick.
BTW one reason for my unhappiness with Euro movies, was the mismatched music to the movie.
Bad volume consideration. Poor for the mood of the movie. I grew up in a Euro centric family so I had to watch my share, although we lived in Hollywood Hills. They have improved. Give them a tad of credit. Of course so much is Euro-American/Hollywood production considering personnel.

The Music!
I thought I had found something to appreciate since "MY" generation in music.
I thought it was Punk.
But, OOOoooohhh NNNnnnnnooooooooo <John Belushi voice>
My friend claimed it was a Euro-ized Led Zepplin sound tract.
Apologetically, he said it was our generation.
Not threatening to a friendship since 1969.
Moi
Why hasn't there been any good music since, . . . .

It was my understanding #2 was in production.
Sadly it is NOT.
And the latest news is
Daniel Craig will not be part of it.
Major
On a 1 to 5 scale, this is 5 Prozac news.

Find Hedestad on the map yet?

Re: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-tal ... 07613.html
Fans of Daniel Craig's performance in 2011's “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” may be in for an unpleasant surprise in the sequel: his character, crusading journalist Mikael Blomkvist may be written out of the film entirely. “The Girl Who Played With Fire,” based as “Dragon Tattoo” on a novel by the late Stieg Larsson, focuses a lot more on “The Girl,” hacker extraordinaire Lisbeth Salander (played by rising star Rooney Mara). But the reason Blomkvist may be cut has more to do with commerce than art.
Sony's disappointment in the box-office returns for “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo,” which grossed $233 million worldwide on a reported budget of $90 million, far short of their hopes, led them to tighten the purse strings for the sequel. Daniel Craig, on the other hand, was just in the phenomenally successful “Skyfall,” which led him to ask for an increase in pay for “The Girl Who Played With Fire.” As this runs contrary to Sony's more fiscally responsible plan, they are reportedly balking.
The tactic of simply writing the character out of the sequel is not without precedent. In William Goldman's 1997 screen adaptation of the novel “Absolute Power,” the novel's protagonist was completely cut, and the thief character played by director Clint Eastwood was elevated to the lead. Even then, “Absolute Power” was a far lower-profile novel and film.
As a cost-cutting measure, cutting Craig's character is at best a counterintuitive one: screenwriter Steven Zaillan's script has already cost Sony quite a bit of money (the Oscar-winning writer's rate is quiet high) and the level of rewrites mandated by cutting one of the two lead characters could potentially cost even more than increasing Craig's salary.
Daniel Craig's representatives have denied the reports that he's seeking a salary increase, saying those negotiations have yet to begin. It could be that this entire notion of cutting him is a preemptive negotiating tactic by the studio. Little has yet been concretely decided with regards to “The Girl Who Played With Fire,” even if director David Fincher is returning.
With none of Fincher's other projects currently presenting a conflict, it's conceivable that if all the salary negotiations end up going smoothly, that the sequel could go into production rather quickly. If that's the case, the multitudes of Millenium Trilogy fans could find the next installment arriving in cinemas sooner rather than later.

Re: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
The characters, Bloomkvist & Salander as well as the players, Craig & Mara were dynamic together.
Too bad about the cat.
I wonder how the movie did in after box office profits.
Walt Disney's Fantasia was his only box office failure, I suspect after box office residuals covered any losses and then some.
For both.
