alot of you claim to be neither male nor female, so what it the appropriate way to refer to you? for example i use
ma'am or sir to be respectful to others, as well as he or she.
i ask because i don't want to offend those i meet in real life

Re: Androgens
Well it depends on the setting or location or atmosphere. If you're addressing me here, eunuch is best. If you're addressing me at home, I prefer that you be discreet and respectful, few people know that I'm a eunuch and it wouldn't be in my best interest for them to know. If may jeopardize my relationship(s), my job, my mental health. So, yes I'm a fully castrated eunuch and I like being a eunuch, however, not everyone will understand this and most people will probably be appalled by it. Some might feel sorry for me, my doctor felt this way until I told her that I liked being castrated. So again, it depends on where you are and who your with. I think most people transsexual or eunuch will feel this way.

Re: Androgens
I'm glad you asked that question, because it's been on my mind, too. I hope a consensus answer develops, because I've seen some postings in which people say they were offended by an inappropriate form of address or pronoun usage. I tend to avoid pronouns as much as possible, because I, too, want to avoid offending, but it would be very helpful if I had a rule to go by--say, for example, an additional item in people's profiles saying how they'd prefer to be addressed in the forums.cronoserge (imported) wrote: Tue Nov 29, 2011 6:05 am alot of you claim to be neither male nor female, so what it the appropriate way to refer to you? for example i use

Re: Androgens
It fully depends on the setting. In public you should always address the person as they present themselves male or female, and unless you know the person it always should be a formal address. In private after you know the person then what they prefer to be addressed as.
