Seahawks Stadium Beer Price Scandal Revealed on YouTube

Monday, January 10, 2011, by Paula Forbes

After a YouTube video showed that both the small and large options available at the Seahawks' stadium, Qwest Field, held 20 ounces of beer, fans at this weekend's NFL playoff match between the Seattle Seahawks and the New Orleans Saints paid slightly less for beer than usual.

The small size, which at $7.25 cost $1.25 less than the large, supposedly held 16 ounces. Yet in the video below, it clearly fits a full 20. First & Goal Inc., the company that oversees the stadium's operations, said there was a labeling problem and that they're unsure how long it's been as issue. Oops! The stadium sold the 20 ounce beers at the 16 ounce price during the game.

The stadium's official statement and the video. >>>

First & Goal's Official Statement:

"We received a copy of the YouTube video showing the quantity of liquid served in the 16 oz. beer cup is the same quantity that fits into the 20 oz. beer cup. This is the first time we have been alerted to this fact. Upon our internal investigation this afternoon, we discovered the cups that are marked 16 oz. hold 20 oz. of liquid. Fans who purchased a 16 oz. beer actually received 20 oz. of beer for the 16 oz. price. Fans that purchased the 20 oz. beer received the amount they purchased. We are working with Levy Restaurants to follow up with the cup vendor about the measurement and to determine how long this has been occurring at Qwest Field. We are determined to find a solution as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we will serve domestic beer in the 20 oz. cup at tomorrow's playoff game to ensure all fans receive the amount they purchase, and we will charge the 16 oz. price."

Anybody who spends $7.25 for a brew is nuts.

I agree.

This isn't custom brewed beer from small batches like we see from the microbrewery.

This is beer in a tanker truck, not even a keg, mass produced yeast piss with hops flavorings.

My question is this, do they think there charging enough for the beer?????

After all somebody needs to cover those million dollar pay days.
