That has to be one of the most gruesome ways to be castrated. Makes me cringe, the pain must have been terrible. Sad.

(Newser) – Revolting details have emerged in the slaying (http://www.newser.com/story/109283/port ... n-nyc.html) of journalist and gay activist Carlos Castro—Renato Seabra, his confessed killer, told police he castrated Castro with a corkscrew before leaving him to die in a Manhattan hotel room. Seabro said that he did so in order to "get rid of Castro's homosexual demons," a police source tells the New York Daily News (http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/201 ... z1AdCxtFK8). Friends overheard the two arguing before Castro's death.

Which is odd, because by most accounts Seabro and Castro were a gay couple, who had stayed at the Times Square hotel for more than a week together, dining and drinking out. Nonetheless, Seabro and his family insist he was not the 65-year-old activist's lover: "from the beginning, he never hid his sexuality, which is heterosexual," Seabro's mother tells Portuguese media.
