many older guys thru aging, medications or medical conditions become eunuchs (testes no longer producing testosterone). they have all the symptoms of guys who have been castrated. most don't realize that they are eunuchs. i am one of those altho i suspected i was an eunuch a year ago. i would love to hear from others who have experienced the same. incidently i wouldn't mind losing my shrunken non functioning balls

hi andrew,
we have met several times before, in gynecomastia2 list and the yahoo group on andropausal eunuchs which i have started. thanks for responding again. i also am not taking hrt altho i did take some estradiol for two months. but i have not taken anything for six months. interesting though my breasts are still growing. it seems hard to reach out to the other mature eunuchs altho there are many. guess they are afraid to admit they may not full males any longer.

Far more then that, there is still a very real prejudice in our society against those who are different in some way,
i agree society tends to be prejudiced agst those who are different. for a long time i have tried to be different and an individual but not so that i could not be part of the society i lived in. sort at the edge. actually all of us are different in some way. there is a societal notion what is male - stereotype - and most males try to live to that, even into old age. being an eunuch for whatever reason makes that difficult.

I guess there are lots of them around. But even if they would come out, nobody would even believe in what they say. And mostly take no notice.
In my case, my new doctor (woman of ca 45) completely checked me through. For the blood test, I also wantet testosterone to be checked. And it was. When we looked through the test results, exactly this numbers were gone. And probably not as important as blood sugar levels and triglize-whatever. So why even tell her that I was castrated last september. She would not find the book about eunuch- health anyway.

I informed Donna, my physician (Black Female), promptly about my castration. Although there are no books as such on eunuch health issues, our body chemistry is somewhat like that of post-menopausal women. Like them, we are hypogonadal. This has to be taken into consideration.
In fact, I see her tomorrow for another set of fasting blood tests, to include fasting cholesterol, fasting blood sugar, liver profile, and total testosterone and estrogens. Donna does a lot of medical practice with post menopausal women thanks to a retirement home next door that sends her all their patients. So I feel I am in good hands.

I informed my physician before I had it done. At the time he was a very good looking young internist, probably in his late 30's. He strongly recommended that I reconsider, but he'd had a chance to solve my problem (testicular pain) so I told him I was going to do what he couldn't. I asked him if he would continue to treat me after and he said of course! He did, too, and paid a little more emphasis on blood chemistry, bone density, and hormone levels.
I also informed my c-workers. Most of them showed either no emotion, or admiration that I had "the balls" to do it. I have been pleasantly surprised that no one has shown any discrimination. I suspect my neigbors have even forgotten by now.

It takes a lot of balls to be a eunuch!

I am a non-surgical eunuch also. I was told that it was just one of those things and happens to some men. Since I found out nuts had quit working and I started TRT in Jan 2001, I have not kept it a secret at home or work. I believe that they had stopped working about 8 years ago and had started to shrink. When I started the TRT they were about half their former size and are now soft, mushy and about the size of a jellybean. I didn't like the 'eunuch calm'. I had no energy and felt as if I was in a fog all the time.
