Stop Erections

Defining a nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy is easy: During the surgical removal of the prostate gland, an attempt is made to spare the two cavernous nerve sheaths (lying slightly underneath and to the sides of the gland) that produce erections.

Completing the nerve-sparing surgery successfully and deciding who should have it are much more difficult than defining it.

IS THIS THE OPERATION THAT ALLOW YOU TO STILL HAVE ERECTIONS OR STOPS THEM????:dong:

The goal in the procedure is to allow to things...

First is to allow normal function sexually. Second is for bladder control they found by saving at least one of the cavernous nerves that bladder control is more likely to be retained. I had this disscusion with my MD when he did my PSA/ Prostate issues tend to run in my family. Lucky for me levels are way below what is considered normal for a guy half my age.

While cutting those nerves will make you impotent it will not take away desire like a Orchi would.

Orchi has not taken away my desire. Just my ability to perform. Maybe going back on daily hrt will give that back to me. The Doc switched me to androgel. I was on Testim. I know that works. He wants to see how things progress on AndroGel.
