Newsworthy?

On the news right now...
All the bridges leading to and from Vancouver International Airport have been closed, as a Cathay Pacific jet (A380, I think) enroute to Hong Kong has declared an emergency, and is in the process of dumping fuel, prior to making an emergency landing, which should be taking place in about 10 minutes.
Could be nothing, could be something minor, or could be something which takes over CNN for the next few days. I sincerely hope it's something as simple as a sick passenger.
Just thought I'd share.

NO smoking on the bridges then....

A problem arose just after takeoff when the pilot discovered his "flaps" weren't working properly. He was lucky to have safely landed.

IF the weather was not good he probably would not have been able to.

Good old Scare Bus. Was not long ago one near bought it trying to land in Las Vegas. Landing gear wouldn't lock down. Nobody hurt thankfully, but the plane was a total loss.
Maybe I'm too critical, but this is the kind of thing we get into when government takes on what should be a private sector task. Government is about process. The private sector, of necessity, must embrace pragmatism or die. Or secure government subsidies.
Wait'll Hillary gets in and turns our medical care over to the DMV clerks. Then all those people injured when next Airbus augers in die waiting for treatment while the hospital staff is on their union mandated three hour lunch break.

At least the flaps all work well at EA.
A good thing too.
Hurray for free speech -- even though I sometimes can't figure out what the F*** I and many are exactly talking about.
Here's hoping all planes get it up and down safely.
Here's hoping curling cures the ills of the world -- as it seems to have done in Minnesota.
From NaziNuts, not one but fascinated by them.
