Stories won't load

Stories won't load
I have been trying for the past week to access one of my own stories to see if it is too similar to one which I'm working on at present. It doesn't work. I get the heading of the page, the progress bar goes across about half way and stops. If it were advancing ever so slowly, I'd go and do something else until it's finished, but there is no evidence that it is advancing at all. Nothing happens. What's wrong here ?

If you said what story you are having problems with, other people could try to load it.
