Depo-provera & 2nd thoughts

Post by Btonskin (imported) »

Been on this for two months and not sure that i will be taking another dose.

I think if my personal circumstances were different then I would continue on DP , but living alone and at times missing my sex drive it might just be not for me at the moment . We all fantasise about surgical castration and yes I would like it if I had a partner who would support me being a permanent sub. No depression at all or other side effects experienced

Strongly reccomend that guys try it out because DP is very effective in getting the desired effect for me I was impotent very quickly indeed but slowly that is coming back with help of some herbs such as Muara Puama , Ginseng etc

Certainly if surgical castration was offered I have to think carefully about it and my sex drive which I would like as an option maybe with T patches or depoT

I hope that this experience may help other men thinking about castration albeit chemical or surgical

Big Hugs to You All

Good decision . A agree that now is not the time for you to follow your desire to supress your sex drive. Your advice to others to think their plans through is right on the mark. --FLO--

Castration is not for everyone. In fact, it is only for very few. If you don't feel this is right for you, then backing off is definitely a smart thing to do. You can always start again later on if change your mind.

Don't think that TRT is going to give you your sex drive back if you got cut. It certainly hasn't brought it back for me. I miss mine dearly and would love to have it back, but I have had to face the reality it probably isn't going to happen. TRT is way different from natural T, and it doesn't account for the other substances profuced by the balls.

Some who take T replacement do get back their libido (some don't). My experience shows me that some features return and some do not. As far as I know no one returns to his complete state while on HRT. This situation is satisfactory for some people but it is certainly not for everyone. Plix is right don't go on if you are not sure, results of castration are vastly different from person to person. I am very satisfied with my results others are not. If you are unsure, don't. --FLO--

Just adding my two cents to the chorus of it doesn't sound like castration is right for you. I've been on Androcur for what I just realized is about 6 weeks. I've never been happier. My libido is nearly zero. I'm not sure, though, at what point I'll be ready for castration even though I genuinely feel my gender is eunuch. I'm dealing with a gender therapist on this. Castration is a huge step. I, too, live alone but that's not a concern for me as far as castration goes. Any decision on that I'll make based on what's best for me alone. [If I were in a relationship that would be different. If you're serious about a relationship, you've got to consider who what you do will affect your partner.] In my case, I've always felt that being in a relationship would be nice with the right guy but I've got a great life on my own. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate your hoping to find someone. Be careful what you do with chemical castration and stay away from surgical unless you're really sure it's what you want for you.

Speaking to my own experience, I am satisfied that I did the correct thing in removing the old orbs. One way or another it would have been done, no matter what - I would have found the way. Nevertheless, I went through some horrifying aftermath that I would never wish upon another, even an enemy.

My use of HRT is variable; sometimes none at all for periods; more often low dose maintenance levels - prevents hot flashes, joint pain, and slows weight gain; other times I use "normal" levels - which I think are way below normal for most, certainly for me; other times, very high levels (normal and above are not frequent customers of mine). No matter which level I use, even without, I experience a low but persistent libido - I think that is learned and experienced, rather than hormonal, although it once was much higher pre-castration. On the other hand, I find, and have for some time, that erective capacity is severely retarded, regardless of which HRT level I use, requiring a great deal of effort. Most often this does not bother me, occasionally it does. Perhaps this is a result of my variant use of HRT levels. I have, overall, found a general and progressive decline in libido and capacity over time, though, regardless of my levels of useage.

Since I'm a new(er) eunuch on the block maybe my comments are not as useful. But I've also had low Testosterone levels for a long time. Post surgery and on "full" (Healthy) levels of Testosterone I feel great. Not good but really great. Sex drive is a little bit more then I've been used too in several decades but its working out ok. I'm a bit more "needy" in the sex depertment then I've been used to but again thats working out ok. But I'm in a relationship with a willing partner. :D

Energy, mood, anxiety and mental clarity were pre HRT issues that I was not dealing with well so this is a big win for me. I have a theory that stable levels are important for HRT to work right. But... I am no expert. Getting rid of my orbs was a big plus for me. Mine were not working right and were a constant pain so my motives were maybe more clear cut then some others.
