Balls for Sale?

The Holidays are a time to visit family. A co-worker came back from visiting family that he hadn't seen in twenty years with a strange story. His cousin has a typically dysfunctional family; lots of kids that they can't support so they all still live with Grandma and Grandpa. His cousin's 17-year old son is so disgusted with it all that he has sworn never to have kids. In fact, he wants his balls cut off. He believes that medical science will pay Top-Dollar to get a healthy, young testicles to work on. He is just upset that he has to wait until he is 21 before he can collect his money.
Now, I believe my co-worker when he says that he was told this. BUT is the young man correct? Will researchers Actually pay you to remove your gonads??!!!!! Why haven't we heard about this before?

This sounds very doubtful. Overall it is pretty difficult to get a medico to remove your balls. Paying for them? I don't think so. --FLO--

This story seems to make the rounds every so often. I think snopes.com has something about it. In any case I believe scientist would rather research the testicles while they were still attached and viable. Severed testicles are very available from corpses. So no I don't think there is any money in selling your testicle.... unless of course you are a celebrity

Dr Reed in miami has a discount for qualifying castration customers, who have viable Ludwig cells, there is a research project, but no one is paying for them..

In the USA, it is illegal to pay money for body parts.
Even legitimate transplants cannot be done for money.

Judging by the shear numbers of people here who would be queing up to give their balls to science, I don't htink that they would command a great value, that aside form the legal issues of selling body parts.
Converseley there would be a queue to pay for surgical removal!!

Well the real value would be if you could transplant them to a deserving recipient. I dont see why not. I suppose that the big issue would be whether the resultant sperm would carry the DNA of the new owner or whether they stayed with the original owner's DNA. If the latter then who would be considered the father of the flood of resultant offspring?? legally as well as genetically? another major issue would be of course, whether the new testicles would restore youthfull vigour to the elderly - I mean as transplants not as deep fried food morsels as some would consider them.

Seems like a topic that others more knowledgeable than myself could opine on??? Let your imagination run riot.

Well castrations are generally illegal as well but they happen anyway. Thai surgeons would likely help out. It could become a major trade in body parts like the sale of kidneys for transplant in Pakistan:dong::dong:
