Large-scale contamination of food supply with Estrogen

An idea popped into my head: someone acquires a lot of Estrogen that can be injested, and contaminates food supplies (supermarkets etc.) on a large scale with it.

Then weeks later, men are mysteriously unable to get an erection, and find themselves growing breast tissue!

That would be pretty funny.

Something like this is already happening, albeit on a smaller scale. Scientists & environmentalists have known for many years that a large chunk of the plastics in use today give off substances that largely mimic the effects of estrogen. Although most of them only affect 'lower' creatures, the potential is there. This may not be so far-fetched, after all.

With all due respect to A-1's, hopefully presumably joking answer, I think that the general populations of the countries he mentions, living under terrible despotic regimes, are exempt from his wishes.

Hmm, that *would* be an interesting biological weapon to use against an enemy nation. Destroy their ability to reproduce, and their population will dwindle in the future, and you don't even have to kill anyone. For this purpose it would probably be better to target female fertility, however.

That reminds me of another thread on this forum talking about an experimental sterilization drug that costs $50, and only requires a single injection for permanent effect. The capacity for mass sterilization is there.

All joking aside, war and terrorism are terrible things, but A-1's crack about big balls is relatively true. If you stop and think about it, we could pretty well squash anyone who pissed us off in a matter of about 15 minutes without dropping the first nuke. It's much like the 98 pound weakling who gets in a lucky shot to the 300 pound guy at the beach. He might hurt for a while, but when he's recovered, look out. He's going to kick ass.

Consider what we did to Iraq in Desert Storm. Iraq's army was one of the best equipped armies in the world at that time. We decimated their air defenses, ruined their communications systems, destroyed their national electrical grid, pin-point bombed their military headquarters and put their military and whole country in utter chaos in a matter of a few hours.

Now, consider this. Those "Smart Bombs" are no more than sophisticated guidance kits that are attached to a conventional WWII variety bomb. Nothing fancy.

They sure as hell will bolt onto a Mark IV nuke, and then you talk about your "BUNKER BUSTERS" Whee! The ones in those "Axis of Evil" nations that "W" rambled about are either mad as hell, scared shitless, or a little bit of both by now. Their fears are not unfounded, either.

Honestly, I don't see how we could not have known something about 9-11 intelligence-wise. But hell, we are all in denial, arrogant and so full of our own self-righteousness that we should nauseate even ourselves.

SO, friends, let "W" have his rant and time of war. It is a good cleansing exercise for the World, something a-kin to having your septic tanks pumped out. He will not get re-elected unless the economy turns around in the next 30 months or so.

In the meantime, rest assured that somebody has already stored away enough designer chemical substance to chemically neutralize a lot of strange compounds, some of which we really need not discuss.

As far as how much *E* y'all might need to "treat" the water supply of a medium city, well, it would be significant. I'm not saying that it couldn't be done, but you would need somebody who knew how the Fluridation systems worked in a municipal water supply.

But hey, that's a whole lot of SICK-O. I mean, you might as well overdose them with "T" and watch in glee as they strangle each other.

Terrorist mentality is a mentality that does not recognize the innocent populations of a country. Believe me, the RULERS ALWAYS ESCAPE, while the innocents suffer. You don't see Osama bent-for-leg-irons or Mutha Omar MuthaF in Guantanimo Bay, do ya? Don't hold your breath until they show up, either. I can tell you that if the U.S. finds out for sure where they are they are going to go after them.

Believe me, they will hit hard, fast and with enough firepower to get the job done. Surrender will not be possible at this point. If they are found, people will die and there will probably be innocent civilians involved. Not because the U.S. want to kill innocent people in countries who harbour such criminals, but it will be because it cannot be avoided. That's the truth.

Why not consider the story where a community that is supplied by water wells gets contaminated from a chemical or waste storage facility.

That sounds like a more likely scenerio.

Already been done - for real. In Cornwall, a few years ago, a tanker drive dumped a full tanker of chemicals into the water supply.

I forget the exact percentage but it was something like 1000 x the max.

The alarm started when peoples hair turned green. Subsequently there was a surge of cancer and other illnesses.

What is frightening, is that there are so many chemicals put into drinking water these days that it is only a matter of time before it happens again.

Drink Whisky - it is safer.
