Drug for reducing the size of the Prostrate
I have been a silent reader of this forum, without taking part much in the debates.
However, now I have a need to reduce the size of my prostrate owing to my age and the inconvenience of having to go to the toilet too many times.
If there is anyone out there who knows of a specific drug for the reduction of the prostrate I would be very interested.
I would not mind if it reduced the size of my testis at the same the time, as a bonus!
Awaiting someone’s advice.

Proscar (finasteride 5mg) is the standard protocol.

Schiff's Saw Palmetto or "Prostrate Health" is OTC, inexpensive and I guess it works for that, It's supposed to!
I use it as a T-blocker, works well for that as well.

Re: Drug for reducing the size of the Prostrate
here is a nice study compairing the 2, nicely informative.
http://www.goendurance.com/a94_Saw_Palmetto.html
Basically, Saw palmetto is good for BPH, Prostate Cancer, and bacteral prostatitis, but proscar is more effective in non-bacteral prostatitis. Since Saw Palmetto is cheaper then proscar, it recommends it as first line treatment, it also had lower side effects.
320mg daily of Saw Palmetto is the therapeutic dosage. The only problem is some brands adultidate the pills with fillers and reduce its effectiveness, so go for a major brand and not a cheepie.
A nice side effect of both is increased hair growth, a negative is gynomastoma (well negative for some of us!)

When I tried Saw Palmetto it made me quite ill without any beneficial effects, so be careful when trying something that is new to you. --FLO--

I've actually got my hairline back but it hasn't filled in yet...still thin but getting there....
And I like the gynomastoma but that's just me

That's interesting! I'm seriously considering using something to lower my T as well, and I noticed this is OTC in my native country (The Netherlands) as well. Do you notice any nasty side-effects (from a transgender POV)?

Re: Drug for reducing the size of the Prostrate
Flomax (tamsuiosin) is used to improve the urine flow in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate).
It is a prescription drug in the states. It should start working in a few weeks. It could help with the getting up over night to piss so often. Will also help with the urine flow in general.
I used it a long time ago and worked well with me.

I use flomax, my f'ed up bladder muscles contract and dont like to let go, flomax helps with this too. Basically its a urinary system muscle relaxer. It works, but it has side effects, mainly retrograde ejaculation, which can be good or bad depending on your case.
