My penis has shrunk quite a bit, even though I use low dose testosterone. Sometimes in the morning it hardly sticks out. It's like I have a "buried penis," which makes peeing messy at times. So I'm considering getting the suspensory ligament cut, which should allow more of it to hang down, but since you never know the outcome of this type of surgery, I'm going to ask for an additional procedure. As a eunuch with just a small remnant of scrotum remaining (had most of it removed), I'm going to ask my urologist if she can cut the ligament, freeing my penis and then cut open a space for it down below at the bottom of my scrotum and close to my anus. If she can pull it through down there, I figure it'll free up most of my penis. Then when I sit on the toilet, my penis should hang straight down and be back far enough that I won't have to worry about spraying out onto the floor. Thoughts? My urologist is Dr. J.C., Abington Pa and Doylestown Hospital Pa. I do not know how flexible she is or how easy it will be to get her to do this. My first appointment with her is Oct. 25th. I've noticed that the veins in my penis have gotten smaller or so they appear. In fact, the complexion of my penis is different and it appears shriveled most of the time. Will a eunuch penis eventually shrivel up to nothing?

IT is my understanding that any blood disorders you have will also affect the penis. In other words, if you have plaque build up in your in your chest then you also have it in your dick, and that could affect how it works.

It seems that there are as many different changes to the eunuch penis as there are eunuch penises. Many do shrink and/or shorten. I've seen some that almost disappeared and some that don't seem to change size at all. Mostly there will be some reduction in size but most don't completely hide. --FLO--

When I was on androcur, mine shrunk considerably, but I attributed that to a lack of erections at night or any time.

I've not really noticed my penis decreasing in erect size after castration. It does often seem a bit shorter when flaccid, but that could simply be my imagination.

The only difference with mine is the shrivelled, wrinkly, empty bag underneath.

You might try a penis pump. I read somewhere that 20 min. a day will keep the penis from shrinking. It might be worth a try, it would cost less than surgery.

Reduction in the size of a eunuch's penis seems to be very common and well-documented. It's a reasonable hypothesis that the lack of erections has something to do with this.

The phenomenon of nocturnal erections related to REM (Rapid Eye Movement) phase of sleep is well known, but I've never seen a biological reason (evolutionary advantage, etc.) discussed in technical journals speculating on why this happens. Very old men, and babies in the womb all get erections. Normal boys / men have multiple episodes of erections every night with a total of several hours in the erect state ('morning wood' is the frequent event of waking with the last dream of the night [REM sleep] just fading, and the penis is still erect on waking).

Could be that it's the nature of erectile tissue that if is isn't frequently stretched to its normal limits, it loses its elasticity and the organ consequently shrinks. Other human parts like ligaments and tendons have similar characteristics.

One noter's suggestion that using a vacuum pump periodically might be a good idea. Of course we could only prove it by monitoring a statistically-valid large sample of new eunuchs - some of whom "pump", and others who don't - and then measuring erect penis size of both groups over a period of years. This is, obviously, not an easy study to undertake.

I've been on androcur for almost two years, and my penis has shrunk so much as to be almost invisible. Mind you, it was very small, (well, tiny) to begin with, so I'm not sure how much the andro had to do with it.
