Eunuchs and their relationships to Harems

Hello All,
I have decided that this is an intersting enough side discussion that it probably should be its own thread. It started with my mentioning to plezherus that I have a "cyber-seraglio". He then wrote the following:
"You ellude to the hareem. Do you seek woman for your affirmation? Do women protect you, feed you or otherwise support you? I deliberately avoid the whole male on male sub/dom paradigm. I think that duality is a distraction. It is interesting how we can shape our worlds when we decide how we want to live."
Dear plezherus and others, my relationship with my harem is not a "sub/dom" thing at all. I'm, in fact, a bit offended by the view that the relationship of a eunuch to his harem should be a subordinate relationship in either direction. To look at it that way is to accept the superficial view that the eunuch in history was nothing more than an extension of the potentate for whom he worked. I suspect that that view is commonly held, but fundamental wrong.
The relationship of the eunuch to the harem, I submit to you, was one of a family. And a very close family at that.
The people in my harem are the closest people in the world to me. Yes, they protect and feed and nuture me. They are as close to me as anyone could possibly be. Some are motherly to me. Some are sisterly to me. Some are now my teachers, but have been my students. Some have no romantic interests in me. Some fantasize about me. Some don't even really believe (or want to believe) that I am a eunuch.
However all of them formally agreed to be in my harem. And they are there when I need them. They all are willing to hold me when I want to cry. Many of them have done that. At least one of them saved my life.
And I, in turn, have pledged to protect them with my life.
Do I love them? You bet I do.
I offer the following postulatum: EVERY GOOD HONORABLE EUNUCH SHOULD HAVE A HAREM TO CARE FOR HIM AND TO TAKE CARE OF.
I'd love to see what positions, yea or nay, others on this list take to that statement. [Note: I am going out of town and since I can't remember my password, I won't be back here to see what replies I've gotten for a week and a half.]
