HI,
I'm having some trouble accessing the chat. I enter my name and then the JAVA logo comes up. Afterwards, it says "connecting...." and "logging on..." but then nothing happens. I waited for a long time and then tried typing but it said "not logged onto a channel". I tried pushing channel but it wouldn't let me. Am I doing something wrong? I have JAVA in my computer and don't know why this isn't working. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi blondboy,
Make certain that the Java add on is enabled in your web browser. The chat room runs on a Java based program.

Re: Chat trouble
HI!
Thanks for your response. I'm sorry, but I'm not too computer-savy (despite having grown up with them). While many of my contemporaries played computer games I played in the woods and therefor don't have a good understanding of them. What do you mean when you say that the Java add should be "enabled in your web browser"? How do you do that? I'm terribly sorry but I'm lost. Thanks in advance for taking the time to explain it to me. Have a good day!

Re: Chat trouble
It depends on your browser. For Firefox, select Tools - Options - Content - Enable JAVA.
For Explorer, you could try praying.

Re: Chat trouble
Ok. If you're getting the message you are, you have Java installed and functioning. That's not the issue.
I have a few ideas as to what the root cause may be, but I'd recommend you message Christina, as she's the head of the chatroom. If you can provide her with your IP address, that will definitely speed things along and help her figure out where the problem lies.

In Internet Explorer, click on: Tools > Internet Options > Advance, scroll down making sure the box for Java is checked (may require a restart). Also, make sure Java is up to date, go here (http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp) to check for updates.

Re: Chat trouble
Hi Christina!
Thanks! Do you know where I would find that menu? I went to the start menu but can't find anything that says tools. I'm using Windows XP I think.
I went to that link that you gave and checked to see if I had the correct version of JAVA on my computer. I have it so that wasn't the problem. I just can't figure it out!
