TRT issues, re-strengthening the upper body excersizes - help!

Post by DonFL (imported) »

I am on TRT now and want to re-strengthen my upper body and arms, I cant manage to find a good web site with HOW-TOs and diagrams for exercise.

My equipment is modest, just a 5lb hand weight and a 15lb hand weight, I want to make sure my exercises im doing will be effective and not damaging, but i cant afford a health club right now. The 5# feels light at first but is harder after about 10 bicep reps, the 15 is heavy to me right now but manageable. I dont want to screw up so i need to know how to use them correctly..

Anyone know of a good web site with good explanations and graphics?

For cardo I picked up one of them Gazelle Freestyle machines 6 months ago and it seems to be good, my target heart rate is reached in 5 min but 15 min is the end of my endurance right now... The exercise is smooth on it and doesn't hurt my stitches or pull my groin. Have it set up in front of my fish tank so i watch them as i do it.. :D

DocT is an expert! Ask him. For me I know you need to do reps "both" ways to even out muscle. And work out regularly and daily.

p.s. PM me again your last message never made it since I let my mailbox fill up.

Try picking up one of those body builder magazines at the book store. They usually advertise some books with weight lifting techniques.

Also, remember that injectable test may work far better if the dose is elevated, even just slightly. Though, I imagine if you are going from a near non existent testosterone level, even just 100mg/wk will do wonders. But I know from many years experience, that for me anyway, the results start to come at you big time if the dose is more like 200-300mg/wk. PS. It's possible to use this elevated dose, if shots are self administered, then later, of course, you have to ration whats left, so you don't run out before your next refill.

Another trick is to simply switch from one testosterone ester to another. For many people, their body actually recognized this has if they are going through puberty again and again, so the gains keep coming with every ester switch.

Im on 200mg/week of testosterone cyp... I went into a depression cycle the other week and was in a hospital, they upped my T from 100mg/week to 200mg/week as it was diaged as hormonal induced. I do believe they were right, i feel 1000% better now!

My T level is maxed, test was taken at day 3 last week from the 200mg dose, 812ng/dl. The level of an 18 year old....

I'm glad to hear they are not afraid to use more than the measly 100mg/wk they have been doing for so many years. BTW. In a few weeks, your level will go even a bit higher than 812, once the 200mg/wk shots have had some time to "build up".

Search the ebay books for weightlifting or strength training. Working out everyday is great, but don't weight train the same muscles everyday. 3X a week or every other day is optimal. You generally want to do 3 to 5 sets each consisting of 3-8 repetitions. Each set should increase the weight and the last set should be should be the upper limit of what you can safely lift and still maintain a propper form.

That is the type of workout if you want to add mass. Less weight and more reps is better for tone. Any college bookstore or ebay will have a good BASIC weight training book. Most magazines are worthless for beginning lifter and they are 95% advertising anyways... good luck!!!

Day 3 is right around where you peek an 812 is upper end for the "standard" lab. I think knowing your case having you at the high(er) end as you are is what you need to feel right.

BTW most of the doctors admit that no two guys are the same. Some get high levels from low doses and other need much more to achieve this. Body weight etc don't seem to make a science of this. Of course there are so many variables. Some men have testes (Still? 😄) that keep adding testosterone. Some mens adrenals provide more then expected or less. Its all very complex but one thing is for sure - one size (or dose / sched) does not come close to fitting all.

That said I WISH I was on more and on a shorter cycle. My last couple of days between injections are noooooo fun. I'm seeing my GP soon so I will be asking (on my knees?) for more or more often.
